Happy Nail Time

So here I am again guys, sorry for the brief period of absence, university, my 21st and generally life took over momentarily so I had to take a step back from the blog life. But I'm hoping the break is over but I am finding outfit photographs difficult with this miserable weather so here's my top nail polish picks of the moment.

During the colder months, I prefer more neutral colours to bright's and my favourites of the moment are:

- Burgundy. Matte nail polishes make me so happy, there's something special about having nails that aren't all dolled up and shiny and this burgundy piece is a great way of incorporating dark colours without sticking to the stereotypical black nail.

- Duck Egg Blue. I don't know why I love this colour so, I think since I went white I've realised how much blue suits white and there's nothing than having nails to go with your hair is there!

- Beige. I constantly wear nude nails, I think it makes your nails look longer and classy and goes with literally everything!

- White. When does white not work with nails, having hands that look like you've poured Tip-Ex over them is very me and with my very monochrome colour palette, they are effective on so many levels especially as you can easily add any number of top coats to jazz them up.

So there are my nail favourites of the moment, I hope this is me back for good, please let me know if there's any posts you'd love to see while I'm back

Blogging 101

There’s a new breed of fashion icons gracing the world, and they are not the common day celebrities we used to. Fashion blogging has taken both the internet and fashion world by storm, allowing anyone to document their own unique style online. As a fashion blogger myself, I have learnt a few tips and tricks to help anyone get their foot into the industry & have selected my top tips to share with you & hopefully inspire some new bloggers!

-          Blogging is not a one man ship, I work from various social media accounts to promote and interact with other bloggers. My top choices are Instagram, allowing you to promote recent blog posts and post daily pictures of what you’re doing, Twitter, which allows you to build up strong bonds with companies and bloggers a like and lastly, Bloglovin which provides a platform to view all your top blogs at once!

-          Interaction. Many bloggers complain about the lack of comments on their posts & I have to agree, getting a comment on a blog post you’re really proud is such a confidence boost & has also lead to me discover some amazing blogs through it!

-          Carry a notebook at all times. Inspiration comes to me at the most random times, in Morrison’s, on the bus to university and sometimes writing it on your phone won’t always mean you’ll remember it! I carry round a little notebook constantly, for random outfit inspiration to new blog content I’ve thought of.

When I started blogging, I only thought I would post outfit posts. But there are so many topics you can cover as a blogger, my personal favourite being: wish lists (pick your top items from a shop such as ASOS), haul posts (share your ill-gotten gains with your readers & then maybe you won’t feel as bad…), favourite bloggers (who’s inspiring you this month?) and of course, posts on hair & beauty work perfectly if you also have a passion for them too.

This was a piece I wrote my university paper but I thought I'd share it with you guys as it took me a lot of courage to start my own blog so I'd love to know I'd maybe helped inspire others to make their own too :-)

Bleach London Review

Bleach London Total Bleach & White Toner

Now if you follow me on Social Media, you'll already know about my thing with white blonde hair and my struggle to achieve it! Well my friends, I've found the solution. Bleach London started as an independent salon in London, dying hair a wide range of colours from Mermaid Green to Sassy Pink. Then the hair gods provided, and they launched their range in Boots. I was meant to try Bleach London about a month ago, when my student loan came in, but low and behold, they had sold out, sod's law. So I waited and waited, then got bored and tried other dyes which failed to get the whitest I truly desired. Then the hair gods provided again and both the products I need came back in stock.

I bought Bleach London Total Bleach & White Toner, the bleach to remove the colour from my hair and take it way back to its lightest colour. Now when you bleach your hair, it goes yellow as your hair is naturally yellow when stripped back. So I needed the White Toner to get rid of the icky yellow tones and get my perfect Ice Blonde look I'd been looking for. Now these products are expensive, £7 a pop which if you've got long/thick hair can get costly, but its so worth it. No other product has managed this like these have. They also come with Reincarnation Masks to help bring your hair back to life but I do have to say, this bleach has been the kindest on my hair out of all bleach I've used. Now I'm not a beauty blogger so I'm not going to blog about the process, I just wanted to show my love and the before and after effects of these products.

If you too, can't get enough of the white, I'd recommend this to the grave. Strong 9/10, just a tad expensive.

Liebster Award

I was both shocked and delighted to be tagged by Katherine for the Liebster Awards, which helps new bloggers get their name out there! Each blogger answers a set of questions and then tags other new bloggers with under 200 followers who deserve recognition.

Here are the questions Katherine assigned to me :-)

1. Why did you start your blog?
I started blogging as I've been reading fashion blogs for over a year and I've always wanted to join in so I finally pushed myself and started up Lockett's Pockets!2. What is the one beauty product you can't live without?
I can't live without my eyebrow pencil. I regularly change my hair colour and I have very light eyebrows naturally so it helps me look a little bit more human even on 'no makeup' days
3. What is your favourite beauty brand?
My favourite beauty brand is Benefit, although I don't own a lot of it, I love everything about it, from the packaging to the quirky names.
4. Do you have a youtube channel?
I don't yet but you never know what might happen!
5. If you could take a youtuber shopping who would it be?
I would take Amy from The Little Magpie as she has amazing style and I'd love to hear her accent in real life. 6. Are you reading any books at the moment?
I've just started reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, so wish me luck!7. Who is your favourite blogger?
It's a toss up between Amy from The Little Magpie and Megan from Pages By Megan, they're both such babes.8. How long ago did you start blogging?
About 3 weeks ago but only just got going now really.9. Who inspires you most?
My parents, they never fail to surprise me and are so supportive even in my rough moments.10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully as a primary school teacher but I'll probably be still a waitress aha!11. What would be your dream job?
Full-time fashion blogger (realistic I know) or working at ASOS.

I nominate:

And I nominate you to answer these questions :-)

1. What initially got you into to blogging?
2. Which blogger would you say inspired you most?
3. If you could only shop at one store for the rest of your life, where would it be?
4. Do you have a youtube channel?
5. Who is your favourite artist/band?
6. What do you hope to achieve from blogging?
7. What is your life aspiration?
8. What is your favourite item of clothing?

10. What would say to any aspiring bloggers who are considering starting their own?
