Happy Thursday! It's been so nice up North today, shock horror! I shot this outfit last week when the weather was different, it's one of my favourite combos, wrap tops and jeans. Always a winner. Kind of feels like I'm wearing a dressing gown but is more socially acceptable than actually wearing said dressing gown. Sliders were my shoe of choice last summer and it looks like the same will happen again this summer. Sliders 4 eva. And that include the food version mmm.

Today's next instalment of my UNiDAYS collaboration involves me wearing my favourite colour ever, black. I adore an colour blocked outfit and black is the easiest way to achieve this look perfectly. By mixing different textures and tones of black, it keeps the outfit from looking too samey.

This leather jacket is my one of my favourite pieces of clothing, mainly for the fact I customized it to look like a Comme de Garcons leather jacket, which obviously I could not afford. But I do not give up easily and armed with a white nail polish and a Google image I created my own, slightly messy version. 

Topped with my new favourite hair accessory, my knitted turban which I stole my Little Magpie, which comes in handy in stormy Lancaster at the moment!

So there is outfit number two of wearing jeans in a non-boring way, hope you guys are enjoying me being back and this collab!

Sports Casual

I'm currently working with UNiDAYS and their blog team to do a few posts on how to wear jeans without feeling boring, so here is my first instalment!

The key thing about dressing for university, is being comfy. Sometimes I can be on campus from 9am to 9pm and there's nothing worse than being cold/uncomfortable/unhappy in what you're wearing. That is why jeans really are your best friends at university. In today's outfit, I combined them with a ribbed jumper with a cheeky side spilt to make things a bit different and my new favourite footwear, my Pumas. I really like the combination of sports and classic cut items, I think it looks really presentable and well thought out.

Dressing Gown

Guess who's back! So I may have taken an extended break from blogging due to health issues (I am now wheat intolerant so that's fun...) , then work commitments, then Christmas etcetera etcetera... But it's okay because I'm back! Not going to lie, this outfit is from way back in November, I now have normal blonde hair again but I will be posting a current outfit tomorrow including a brand collaboration of the world's most beautiful shoes! 

But yeah this outfit was a typical I have university and it's raining again but I actually want to wear something other than jeans or trousers. This skirt was absolute steal from £70 to a tenner on ASOS and it truly goes with everything, daytime or night time! Combining with colours that compliment the skirt, and this sure did keep me warm on a typical raining Thursday in Lancaster.

I have many exciting things to come this year, hopefully announce my big break very soon and some work with Unidays next week! Thank you for sticking with me guys, I also reached over 4,500 page views this month which was utterly amazing seeing as I hadn't posted in a month and a half :/

ASOS Wants

So I received a bonus at work this month (most loved by customers say what) so I'm now deciding what I want to treat myself too. As ever ASOS always provides and this month I'm craving navy, warm coats and stupid santa jumpers. Having recently bought a pair of black leather trousers and adoring them, I now want a navy pair to add to my collection. I've been searching high and low for a dress with a tie waist detail and this beauty from Evil Twin may be my way to achieve it, for an reasonable price of course!

Now the festive season has well and truly hit us, I think its high time to update the christmas jumper with this cheeky slogan version, of course in black. As I said I'm loving navy at the present and this pleat skirt fits both features I love in a skirt, A-Line design with a pleated detail. 

Lastly, I'm still not over the Stella McCartney flatform shoes and these versions from ASOS are probably the closest I'll ever get on a student budget, but sadly they are out of stock at the moment :(

Culottes X Nike

Culottes were one of the big trends this summer and lucky they're still going strong now and featured in many catwalks at London Fashion Week! Hurray for culottes! Great for those when I'm bored of living in skinny jeans, and boy do I live in my skinny jeans and also great at hiding food babies/days you didn't go to the gym/want to pretend you're still in your massive PJ's. What more could a girl want.

These bad boys are from ASOS (obviously, it's me) which I got for a steal in the summer sale. Teamed with a slogan sweatshirt and my Nikes, this is a perfect chilled outfit which is both comfy but also looks like I made an effort. I love the combo of grey and navy, they work really well together and the added jazziness of the sequins adds a bit of glitz to a quite muted outfit.

Colour Blocking

One of the most simple trends to achieve this Autumn/Winter is colour blocking. Combining different tones & textures of your favourite colours. The great thing about colour blocking is looks so well thought, but are so simple to achieve. My personal favourite is either navy or grey, mixing varying shades to build a more defined look and then breaking up with a contrasting colour like black or white. A ways of nailing colour blocking are:

Isabella from http://isabellathordsen.dk/ shows a perfect example of wearing really similar grey tones together, but without it looking to the same. By varying the textures of the top and trousers to ribbed and crepe, its gives the whole outfit a more expensive feel and although these pieces were not originally meant to be together, they really look like they come as a set. Topped off with black accessories to contrast the all grey look and you have a simple yet effective look.

Megan from http://www.pagesbymegan.com/ is queen bee at colour blocking. As an ASOS personal stylist she attempts colour blocking more than most and here are two examples of my favourite attempts. Navy is another brilliant colour to colour block, as navy is such a closer neighbour to black and therefore has the same level of sophisifcation  but less dramatic than black. By pairing a casual sweatshirt with a pleated mini skirt, in near similar shades of navy, she creates a perfect look for in the day, without looking too casual or too smart! Topped off again with contrasting black boots, this outfit would easily work throughout the daytime going into the evening.

Another perfect attempt at colour blocking is this look, slightly different to the previous outfits as it contains more contrasting colours than they do but the lower half of the outfit revolves around a similar colour scheme which is then broken up by the white and grey elements. This coat is such a great piece to help someone who has never colour blocked before have a go, as the gradient helps make the look less intense and more gentle.

Pink Lady

So I gave in and bought myself a pink coat. I blame Instagram and the blogging world, influencing me to buy these things I clearly don't need but so heavily want. And what a perfect day for it to arrive, on Bonfire Night! This is what I'll be wearing to go watch the fireworks this evening, with a few more layers and more appropriate footwear of course!

I think pink and white always go so well together and now my hair is white I couldn't turn down the opportunity to invest in one, its super snuggly and warm and a nice change from my monochrome coat collection, certainly adds a pop to my outfits! I paired it with my new leather trousers I bought this weekend in London, they're so warm and look so cool, perfect for this cold Autumn days were having at the present. Topped with TWO jumpers, yes you did read two and my normcore white trainers to finish off the colour clash and I was ready as I'll ever be.

This weekend, I paid a visit to the good old city of London to celebrate one of my best friends 21st! We shopped and dined and drank and scared ourselves silly on London Dungeon and I also got to experience my first proper West End show, Wicked! Which was wicked, by the way. Now I couldn't down a good outfit post opportunity so here's what I wore on the Saturday. 

I love colour blocking at the moment, it's probably one of my favourite trends this season and finally plucked the courage up and went for an all white (with a hint of black) look. One colour outfits always look so classic and well thought out, when they're actually so easy to put together. As I did a lot of travelling that day, I wanted to be comfy so white jeans and a white baseball tee were the perfect combo. Paired with black accessories and my new favourite item, fishnet socks, this outfit was a winner for me!
